Hi Sausan! Thank you so much for your note! Yay so glad it resonated with you. May I use your words for promotion?

Hi, Oreet: It did more than resonate since I've been using this teaching technique since before I start teaching in earnest back in my Parks and Recreation classes in the 1990s. It's the only way to teach, in my humble opinion. Teaching using songs is confusing to the dancer's ear. For those who are interested, I've also uploaded my beat teaching CD onto my soundcloud account for anyone to use. It's the only way to teach. And, yes, you may use my words. <3

Hi, Oreet: So good to hear your podcast. Ever since I began teaching belly dance in earnest under the Sausan Academy of Egyptian Dance 24 years ago, I have taught to a beat with no song in the background. I advocate this method and state the exact same reasons you have stated. You are so correct. I'm sure you remember that when you came to one of my complimentary classes ages ago, I used just the beat (maksoum) to explain my method. Thank you for this podcast. --Sausan, Sausan Academy of Egyptian Dance
